I want to upgrade my pc since I am getting into video editing a little more here.

    Couple questions.

Don't know which ram I will need yet as I have not decided on a processor but I will use this for an example.
    1 gig PC 4400 DDR ram $247
    1 gig PC 3500 DDR ram $146
    Prices from pricewatch.com
Will I notice that much of a difference between these to merit the $101 price difference?

Will I notice any difference if I buy a 15000rpm hard drive as opposed to a 7500 rpm hard drive.

What processor do you reccommend....AthlonXP, Athlon 64, Pentium 4??

I am probably not looking to spend more than $400 for the motherboard/chip combo....unless I can get a really significant difference for another $100 or so.

Basically I will be editing video from a DVD camcorder.

Answers to these questions or any other advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You,
    Andy

I'd recommend a Pentium 4 3.0c, 800fsb which is a northwood chip. The Prescott chips have major heat problems.

15k drives are going to cost you $$$ so forget those if you're on a budget.
