i really need to find a solution.

clean the disc.
try the freezer trick.
Does it even show up in Windows Explorer or is it just as if Windows never even recognises that there's a disc there ?
Or does it show up in Windows Explorer, but when you go to access it you get an error message ?If in doubt, Google it. -
the disc is perfectly fine... its retail..... freezer wont do crap for it.
the disc is in it, it just shows nothing, no folder, not file inside the cd. -
yeah, it shows the label, but nothing in it. the read speed of xvcd is about 1.2mb/s that is the program dvd player can read it, but explorar can not, vcd is about 160/s
-
So when you said before that "its retail", you've purchased this disc ?
I'm thinking that if it has been purchased, there may be some sort of autorun running when you put the disc into the computer, to give you the impression that you can't copy the disc.If in doubt, Google it. -
well.. if there was autorun, wouldnt u at least be able to see like the source of the files...
-
If there is an autorun program on the disk you can keep it from running if you hold down a shift key while inserting the disk into the drive. Unfortunately, if some software has already been installed on your computer from previous insertions, this won't work. You'll have to find an uncontaminated computer to try it out on.

is there anyone that mite have had first hand experience.. that way we can be SURE of the exact problem or how to fix it? i will ask my friend to try these suggestions... but they still seem iffy, like not sure if it would work or not.. does anyone kno a definite answer?

Try IsoBuster on the disc, to see it it can find anything.
If you're looking for a way to backup your XVCD, a simple disc copy should do (if it's not copy protected somehow).
And remember that that "X" can stand for anything - it just denotes that it doesn't conform to the VCD standard (Which would make every CD that isn't a true VCD to be a XVCD...)

Mikewho19,
is there a thick blank looking ring near the center on the

look different to other cd's, if so how? -
