    ok,ok.
take the computer back and buy all the parts you need out of your own pocket and fix it, explain you have been going through a rough time and your mind has been elsewhere lately and apologise for all the inconveniance.
but before you hand it over, open the case and jam a dead fish right up between the power supply and outer case.
everytime she turns that pc on and the heat builds up and the fan starts blowing, its going to stink the house out, serves the bitch right for thinking she could get it fixed on the cheap in the first place.

    Let me ask my wife....

she's going to sue you?? I doubt it...

If she was being cheap in the first place when she wanted the computer fixed for next to nothing or as little expense as possible, then she sure as shit will not put out the money for small claims courts and other expenses related to suing you... she's talking shit that she won't back up...

like the others said, tell her to go fu** herself and her computer - cheapskate.... She can buy a new computer from Dell WITH THEIR SUPPORT and stay out of your life... hell, they're only about what, $500 for a pretty decent home system?? She probably has more than that in her clothes shopping anyhow... what a miserable bitch...

    Another update

I talked to some of my instructors at school and they said I should work on her computer.

It looks like I am going to get it up the tailpipe again.

  7. Tell her you'll fix it and that you've had a rough couple of days and then plant some child pornography and/or terrorist documents on the computer and report her.

You'll listen to your instructors, but not your OT friends?

Who do you really think you can trust?

oh come on bazooka, if one person is gonna get to you like that it's gonna be a rough life.

sue you for the cost of her computer? just give her the $50 and tell her to go away then people are just plain dumb, anybody that knows anything about computers know that they can go out at any time. specially an old piece of shit like that one.

fix it if possible and this time have her sign something that says it was in working condition when u handed it to her. i dont think everything is on the up and up if she's that pissed at you but wants u to work on it again. maybe she found out how much it really cost to get a computer looked at. who knows.

but dont let it get you down

  11. Dude, tell her you need a $1000 deposit to look at it.

LOL a pentium 233 is worth like $25. If she does sue you get some quotes for used P-233's to take with you.

Just moving a computer that old can cause problems. Tell the judge it was working when you returned it and that in your semi-professional opinion it needs several part replaced and she was unwilling to pay for it. Also point out if the thing was working right in the first place she would not have had to bring it to you... You also need to counter sue for your losses. Time mainly. Figure out how much time you have spent, add court time then multiply that at $100 per hour, or what ever the going rate for computer repair is in your area.

I feel your pain, but you have learned a valuable lesson! Don't work on other people stuff!
    "Terminated!" :firing:

I'm reading Frank W Abangale's (the person portrayed in Catch Me If You Can) new book, The Art of the Steal which is all about identity theft and various cons so I'm in a devious mood. 8)

I'd tell her to **** off (not in those words though), that all she's ever done is complain and that she must be doing something wrong. Tell her to take it to the local computer shop. Cut your losses.

Sometimes you gotta tell it like it is, despite the consequences, dude
    If in doubt, Google it.

Just tell her you refuse to touch it anymore and that she needs to take it to the local computer repair shop as jimmalenko stated.

Just pop into your local supermarket and get a bag clams. Steam all but one. Eat steamed ones with butter and garlic and loaf bread. Take last clam and spilt it open. Remove flesh and put anywhere iconspicuous, wait 1 week for phone call and say "I don't know what the **** your talking about". That is one of those smells that just sticks to stuff like glue.

It's funny, in the first chapter he says "Whilst I write this book as a guide to help people avoid fraud I can also see it being misused by certain people to commit cons". I was like "thats me!"

I think she was lying because the very next day she did not bring it.

The way she was carrying on, you would think the world caved in.

At the moment, I'm keeping 5 around! I'm in the middle of reconfiguring two of them with some new toys.

It's like that here, main desktop, 2 servers, 2 test boxes / workstations, and the laptop. The bad thing is I've been itching to build a new system.
