Is there a way to get at video card settings when using Remote Desktop? I finally got my HTPC moved to its new spot but forgot to set up the display to go to the TV-out as primary and now I can't get at the settings without moving the PC back out of its hole (which was a PITA to get in there). RDC blocks out a lot of things and it makes sense you can't access display settings as you could mess things up but now I'm kinda stuck.

I also got the 2-beep on boot since I forgot it needs a mouse and keyboard at least plugged in to boot

From what I can see, there's no way to edit non-rdp settings through display properties. There should be a way you can edit the registry and then remotely bounce it, but I couldn't tell you what to change or where.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

  3. What exactly does RDC restrict... I'm assuming you can't install anything. You can't even use nVidia's/ATi's control panel thing?

  4. If you find a solution I'd like to know.
I think you are stuck. My previous HTPC
used a wireless keyboard and VNC just
in case this sort of thing happened. Even
if you setup your card to force detect TV
there will be adjustments you need to make

Well actually the card finally detected the TV as primary. Now I just need to BIOS to recognize the USB keyboard. The actual video output settings are adjusted from within the Media Center app for when you're running it so video playback is optimized for the television you're outputting to. It runs you through a picture optimization wizard to adjust your TV settings that works really well.
