  1. I have a Toshiba laptop with a SD-R2412 DVD/ROM drive. I have several VCDs that will not play on my laptop, but will play on other laptops and PCs. I am using WinDVD 6.0, and the VCDs were made with NERO. The discs also will not play in WMP (I have WMP9). I am all out of ideas for making this work. Can anybody offer some assistance? Thanks

WMP not playing something is no surprise - And a VCD player it has never been! Nero made VCDs (specially if there is a Nero made menu on it) are not up to standard, so depending on player, they don't work.
I suggest you try PowerDVD (a shot in the dark, I admit) or reauthor your VCD with a fully compliant tool like VCDEasy.
