all versions copy the dvd to the hard drive. before burning to dvdr, dvdxcopy has to copy the contents to the hard disk first. just locate this folder on your hard drive and copy the contents to another location on your hard drive when dvdxcopy prompts for a blank dvd, but do not close dvdxcopy at the time of doing it. i cant remember where cos its been ages since i used dvdxcopy and NEVER will do again.

why would you want to use dvdxcopy? dvdxcopy is crap, it adds its own annoying warning screen.

try using some better freewares such as dvd decrypter and dvd shrink.

If all you want to do is copy to the hard drive, I'd suggest you'd be better off looking at a ripper, such as DVDDecrypter or smartripper. As waheed mentions, I prefer DVDShrink over DVDXCopy also.

    DVDXCopy is crapware IMO

BTW, what do you mean by "found" ? In the trash ? On the street ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

DVDXCopy takes freeware applications and adds a drm delphi frontend that calls home.

321Studios had a lousy business reputation. It is wrong to sale freeware applications.

    Oh yeah, DVDXCopy sux.

Besides, 321 Studios has gone out of business after being sued by major companies (do a google search for more information) so dvdxcopy no longer receives any support or updates.
