I am still trying to get a disc backed up on DVD+R DL, and have found that I may be able to do it with Nero Express. Has the compatibility problem improved any? Is there a procedure guide?

DVDdecrypter ISO read, ISO write. Media is important, you didn't state which writer you have. For example if you have Pioneer 108 I wouldn't recommend the Ritek based DL media, the results are rubbish at best, however Verbatim DL media works very well with the drive. I suspect that Verbatim's will work well on all drives.

Thanks for clearing up that procedure. I had long wondered exactly what I was doing wrong. The only problem there is that I want to remove the copyright messages. Not because of dishonest motives, but because I am so sick of being forced to read them that every time I make a backup without them, it feels like an act of revenge to me.
I thought my burner was in my profile. It is an LG GSA-4120B. I also use an LG GDR-8163B for reads. So far I have only used a Verbatim DL disc (it was all that was available in the area at the time)."It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..." -
If you remove the copyright messages you take a chance on moving the layer break which is the genesis of alot of the DL trouble.
I would do it as suggested above and live with the copyright notices if it were my choice.

*sigh*
Okay, I will give it a go that way. It's a good thing the copyright message only appears if you watch the main title through to the end. I've had so many discs where you get bombarded with copyright messages for the first five minutes after you put the disc in (usually in languages I don't understand), that I just get such a satisfied chubby from removing them."It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..." -
*update*
I tried the procedure outlined above, and it appears to work quite well. The disc is readable in a DVD-ROM drive as well as the drive it was originally burned in. Sadly, it also confirms that my LG player cannot play DVD+R DL discs. All the same, it has allowed me to preserve the quality on one backup, so I am very happy with it.
Verbatim DVD+R DLs can be therefore considered reliable as long as you do a straight ISO read then ISO write."It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..."
