Can anyone help me with a problem I'm having?

Whenever I am converting avi to dvdr the file I am left with has a major problem.

When you watch the film on the pc there is a jerk evry couple of seconds that appears to be like a small pause in the video.This is also the case after burning and watching on a standalone dvd player.

I have been trying to convert with both mainconcept and dvd santa but had the same results with both.
I use K-Lite codecs but don't know if this is the problem!

Can anyone help with this problem and can anyone advise me on the best codecs to have on my system?

Also when I check the original file before converting,Gspot says that codecs are installed but nothing seems to work properly!

A frame rate conversion problem? (Do the source and destination share the same frame rate? If not, how did you go about the frame rate conversion?)

Hi daz2712,

Common advice is to stay away from codec packs, or, at most, only install what you need from them.

Try uninstalling the codec pack, keeping only those codecs you need and then re-try. At least you'll be working from a "clean" starting point.

AVICodec lists all the codecs you have installed, should you wish to check after uninstalling on what's there.

If you're still having problems, it may be bad frames in your source file. As it's an AVI, VirtualDub can scan for and fix bad frames.

Or, as mats says, are you doing a frame rate conversion?

Use AVICodec or GSpot on your source file and post details here. It's useful for others to know what you're working with...
