Greetings,
I have a generic DVD-ROM drive and a DVD+-RW drive. I burned a backup copy of a movie onto a DVD+R disc. The disc plays fine on my home DVD player and on the DVD+-RW drive. But when I insert the disc into the DVD-ROM drive, my computer says that there is no disc in the drive.
Is there a firmware update for a generic DVD-ROM drive that can fix this?
Thank you for any help.

It might be the media. I had something similar happen to me when I was using cheap media. Have you tried other DVD+R media?
If that's not the case ... How old is your DVD-ROM drive? Some older drives might have problems with DVD+Rs. If that's your problem then ...
You might check to see if there's a firmware update for your DVD-ROM drive. You could go the drive manufacture's website to check or do a google search.
