  1. Hi All

New to the forum so hope its ok to post here. Ive been using dvd shrink version 3.2 for a while to backup my dvd's. Im currently using a pioneer 106 writer. Im planning to upgrade to a dual layer writer, but im not sure how to backup using dual layer. I would imagine there is no need to shrink a dvd 9 to a dvd 5, because of the extra space ? are there any tools / guides for this ? Basically, as far as dual layer is concerned im a complete novice, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Rob

I just authored a DVD in the dual-layer version (1.6) of TMPGENC DVD Author and then threw the files it created into Nero, and it burned both layers just fine, the disc plays perfectly too.

    method to my madness:

Star Wars TXH laserdisc -> AVI -> 2-pass VBR in TMPGENC (encoded to 16x9 anamorphic NTSC) - > TMPGENC DVD Author w/ 384 kbps AC-3 -> Nero 6.601 -> JOY!
