  1. Hi, i got some DVD video from my friend..However, I would like to redece the bitwave as well as the dimension of the video (from 720x480 down to 352x240) so I can consolidate couple discs into one.

just wondering what software I can use. I tried with TMPEGENC, however, it only works on the first chapter of each disk but not others (don't know why, can read others). What software can help me to reduce bitwave on a VOB file?

    thanks

Altering the dimensions doesn't affect video size - only bitrate and length (in time) do. Making the dimensions smaller however allows you to use a lower bitrate without adverse side effects.
    Rip the DVD.
Extract the m2v from the VOB set, reencode with TMPGEnc (or other encoder) at lower bitrate/resolution.
    Extract audio from VOB set.
Author as DVD with new m2v and extracted audio

  3. thanks

but what software to extract the m2v and audio from the VOB set?

btw, I think I didn't mentioned it clearly in my original post, I don't know if that would make a difference.

the DVD video I got from my friends are not commerical DVD, they are DVD-r that my friends made originally from some Real Video files. So, since they are DVDR video, do I still have to extract audio/video seperately?

    thanks

    Hello,

Mats already told you - tmpgenc - go to file - mpeg tools - demultiplex. There you can split the m2v and the ac3

I usually use ReJig for this.
