Is there any writer out there that can do rewritable DVD9? So I guess it'd be called dvd9-rw.
    Thanks,

No, there is no such animal yet nor the media to support it.

They probably won't be available in the near future. It is because the reflexibility of a single layer DVD +/- RW is about the same as the second layer of a DVD-ROM. Therefore, in order to have a DL +/- RW, we either have a break through in increasing the reflexibility of the RW disk, or we need to have special drive to read them. Given this fact, and HD DVD and blu-ray DVD are coming out soon, I doubt whether they will appear or not.

I'm sure it will be available, but not yet.

That's always wise to try it out first on RW before committing it to R. Most of us don't do that because of the added time ...and the extremely low cost of R media lately.

It's specially smart with the cost of DL being as high as it is. Too bad there isn't DL RW yet. But, like everything else in the past, you usually see them show up eventually.
