  1. @ Bonie81
Proberly not, I don't even know what FICS is?

Noticed the the previous patch had a wip fullframe feature enabled. This is a mistake. Here's a fixed version:

Unzip this and overwrite the old DVDslideshowGUI.exe file in the DVD slideshow GUI folder.

  2. Just wipped up a quick Cinestyle LUT correction plugin for DSG(using Gradation(vdub plugin) for making the amp curve and GiCoCU.dll to import it into Avisynth):

Unzip the inclosed files into the ´Post Effect´folder and use it on photos taken with DSLR cameras using the CineStyle flat picture style.

  3. New DSG patch adding messageboxes on opening avi/avs and checking framerates and also after AvsP script editing:

Hmm. Maybe we can share our experience with the app so far or
share one of our works and even run a contest to choose the winner.

I really like this app, but I want it to be more userfriendly,
so I'd like to mention some parts I don't like about the gui.

    1. Each time I click Save, the Save As dialogue box opens.
This really gets on my nerves after a while. There could be
2 save buttons. For example a Red one for Overwriting, a Blue one for Save As.

    2. There are Pre and Post Effects in Settings. That's a nice feature.
Would be cool if there were Pre-Transitions and Post-Transitions.
I want the slideshow to start and end with a dissolve for example.
I do this manually adding an extra all-black picture to the beginning and end for now.

    3. And a small bug I think. When you sort the photos alphabetically,
sometimes 1 or 2 photos goes somewhere else in order OR
their settings change back to its previous state OR settings exchange among the photos.

These are what I have seen so far. Hope you can do something about these.

  5. Here's a new patch:
    http://download.videohelp.com/tin2tin/DSGpatchSaveAs_Sort.zip

Unzip this and overwrite the old DVDslideshowGUI.exe file and the icons folder in the DVD slideshow GUI folder.

    Changelog since 0.9.4.2
    Bugfix:
    FFindex not found
    Sorting

    New:
    Save As...
    Framerate mismatch notification
    Cinestyle Lut correction
In the icons folder is a file called Transparent.png use this file as slide for the beginning and ends of slideshow to fade in or out.

There are still some evil bugs like the audio bug mentioned here, which I haven't solved yet. My time is getting limited, so I might release a new installer with this stuff, but please test the new/fixed stuff.

How are we going to celebrate the DSG thread "birthday" in november?

Hmm. Maybe we can share our experience with the app so far or
share one of our works and even run a contest to choose the winner.
I've build DSG in a way where it is easy to add and share new backgrounds, avs/greyscale transitions, post&pre effects and animation presets and I've allways been hoping for someone to share those kinds of resources with the other users of DSG.

  6. One last patch before bedtime. Now it is possible to add transparent slides to the slideshow, which is usefull for making fade In/Out in the beginning or end of the slideshow or if intertitles without images are needed.

    Here's a new patch:
    http://download.videohelp.com/tin2tin/DSG_Patch_Transparent_Slide.zip
Unzip this and overwrite the old DVDslideshowGUI.exe file and the icons folder in the DVD slideshow GUI folder.

  7. Thanks a lot for your quick reply.

I was getting errors with the previous fix. Something like "Cannot read file from 100..."
With this last fix I haven't got any any errors so far, but this time Save button doesn't save at all.
"Save As" button saves as usual. On the previous fix when I clicked on Save to overwrite,
I saw the project name changed in the title to "new.ini" and it was doing the overwriting well
though it asked me if I would like to save again on exit.

Is this because this app doesn't have a History feature?
Would be cool if I could save (overwrite) with a single click and exit without being prompted again as in every standart application.

Hope I'm not asking too much.
    Quote Quote
  8. it asked me if I would like to save again on exit.

Is this because this app doesn't have a History feature?
Yes, and it will be too time consuming for me to add it.

Had another go at the save function. Here's a new patch:
    http://download.videohelp.com/tin2ti...rent_Slide.zip
Unzip this and overwrite the old DVDslideshowGUI.exe file and the icons folder in the DVD slideshow GUI folder.

  9. Save feature now works great. Thank you very much. But a few errors have come up.

    1. I preview the slideshow and close the preview window. And if I save the project
after I watch the preview, the project name in the title changes to "xxxx" and
nothing is ever saved after that.

    2. When adding a photo to the project, I select a photo and click on Open.
As soon as I click Open, "Save as" dialogue box opens. This doesn't happen
once I save the project. I don't know if you did this intentionally for a quick save,
but it feels a bit annoying.

    3. In a slide's setting dialogue box, I change a setting and
tap the enter key hoping to Okay the settings and close the box. But it rather behaves
as a tab key and switches focus. I think would be cool if I could OK it with Enter.

    4. And a little issue. Maybe not so important, but wanted to mention.
When you add the 1st picture, it stays selected. Then you just add another picture
and the second picture just goes to top of the 1st one while it should go to the bottom.
This doesn't happen when the 1st picture is not selected. The third and the rest of the media
has no problem. They keep going under one another as expected.

If you are busy these days, no need to hurry on this. I sure can wait.

  10. Yeah, these 19428 lines of code is a mess. Fix one thing - break another.

Thanks for testing. Now I've tried to fix 1,2 & 4.
3 is not possible to do because the function for the enter key is not working in the version of wxBasic I'm using.
4 was actually thought as a feature, but now it is mentioned, as a bug for the 2. time, so now I've changed it.

    Here's a new patch:
    http://download.videohelp.com/tin2tin/DSG_patch_saveini.zip
Unzip this and overwrite the old DVDslideshowGUI.exe file and the icons folder in the DVD slideshow GUI folder.
    Quote Quote
  11. This time a long post. Please take your time.
    I don't want to ruin 7 year's development.
Maybe first you like to design your code in an easy-to-follow fashion
if it isn't so, maybe adding more comments, etc. You know better for sure.

    BUG1
Save feature has turned back to "new.ini" situation.
And this time doesn't work at all. The version at #1448 was great.
There was no "new.ini" name changing when Save was clicked in that version.
Maybe you just need to deal with the part where preview window shows up.

    BUG2 - Fixed

    BUG3
I see. Not a big deal after all.

    BUG4
This is stil happening. Not a big deal either, but would be nice to see them go in order.
I don't see many reasons using it like this other than adding an all-text title slide
or fade-in slide and a few more maybe. And those can be done adding them first in the first place.
Or ordering them with "move up" and "move down" later.

Besides the strange error I mentioned at #1447 has returned.
This DIDN'T happen when I first ran the app.
I ran the app, added some pics, saved the project for the first time (it works),
did more additions, saved (overwrote) the project (which didn't work),
close the app (didn't save on the exit prompt), and ran it again to see the error below:

    Image1

These four lines are each related to the four pics in the previous project.
"50" and "25" are actually the frame durations of the two pics in the project.
The app thinks these settings are the file names I think.
And maybe that's why the project isn't saved (overwritten).
I use the word overwirte because "Save As" feature works great as always.

With the app still open, I tried to add a picture,
and this time the following message showed up.

    Image2

After okayed it, run time error message appeared.

  14. I'm sorry to hear about the terrible earthquake in Turkey. I hope you're okay?

Here's another attempt to fix the save and adding to the #1 position:
    http://download.videohelp.com/tin2tin/DSG_Patch_save.zip
Unzip this and overwrite the old DVDslideshowGUI.exe file and the icons folder in the DVD slideshow GUI folder.

Run Help->Restore to factory settings before testing the new patch.
Don't use any files saved with the previous patches, those might cause errors and bad settings.

  15. Yes, the power of the quake was rather high for the city Van.
I live a bit far from Van, yet we all feel very bad about this disaster for sure.
Hope we will not have many losses. Thank you for your understanding.

The app is now almost perfect. All issues in my last post are fixed.
Overwriting works at all time and the lining of the slides are correct.
The only thing is the corruption when you fiddle with the sorting for some time.

So I've found that there is a problem with replacing the last slide.
For this issue to take place there must be at least 3 slides on the workspace.

    Steps Taken

    1. Replaced the last slide moving the 1st slide down. Now the order is 2, 3, 1.
    2. Sorted the slides alphabetically.
    3. Then as soon as I moved down the 1st slide, the last slide turned into the 1st slide,
    4. Which results in 2 instances of the first slide with identical settings, and one missing slide.

If there are 4 slides, you can also reproduce this bug moving the 2nd slide to the end.
If 5 slides, you can also do it with the 3rd, this goes like this.

    Hope I can explain well.

  16. Thanks for your precise/reproduceable bug reports. I can reproduce this bug. Had a quick look at the code. Don't understand why it is doing that, so I'll have to investigate further when I get the time.

(Do you know any way to get Windows to accept RAW files without using ffdshow? It would be nice to remove ffdshow from the installer.)

  17. Just what I was thinking. We only need a YV12 Color Space decompressor though.
Later I noticed that we don't have to select "all supported". Just YV12 is enough.

Hopefully done a Google search and have just found that single decompressor.

    Discussed here.
    http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56972

Updated in April 2011. It installs both YV12 and I420 decoder DLL files to system32 folder.
You can select only what you need during the installation.

I have just tried it and it works great.

  18. I hope the sorting is sorted now.
    http://download.videohelp.com/tin2tin/DSG_patch_Sort.zip
Unzip this and overwrite the old DVDslideshowGUI.exe file and the icons folder in the DVD slideshow GUI folder.

Realised that Blu-Ray export wasn't working. That too is fixed in this patch.Good find with the Helix yv12 decompressor. Some mp4/mkv decompressor is needed too, maybe Haali Media Splitter?
    Quote Quote
  19. You're right. The sorting is now flawless.

Yes, Helix is very nice with its tiny size. You can include it in the installation package by default I suppose,
so no need to list it as an option during install. yv12vfw.dll file is automatically copied to the system32 folder as in Helix install.

As for the Haali, it is known as the best mkv splitter as far as I know. At least it was 1 or 2 years ago.
You can rely on it if you ask me.

Very excited to see these quick improvements. I smell a new version is near.

I have a hard time trying to reproduce it though.

  21. Are you talking about the audio glitch at the beginning?
Does it not happen all the time?

I have done only one project so far.
And without knowing of this glitch bug, I prefered to insert a few second silence
to the beginning of the audio with another program, so hasn't come across that bug yet.

Maybe it would be cool if you could add a feature like that: Adding silence to the audio.
