  1. i have seached through this forum and many other sites about a year and 1/2 ago when i first got a dvd burner to see if i could put mp3's on dvd's and play them in an in dash mp3 player. now atleast a year 1/2 later i search again, and come up with nothing, just stuff saying "they should do it" and "it should be out soon". what the H$!! im tired of waiting. has anyone found a in-dash dvd player that plays mp3's on dvd-r's. i can put 4.7 gig of mp3's on a dvd and only about .7 gig on a cdr, so a dvd would hold 7 times more songs than a mp3 cd. i am tired of fooling with mp3 cd's i have to burn them all the time and have like 7 disks to fit all my songs on. i just want one dvd-r or even better dvd-rw to use. what are the car sterio manufacturers waiting on, it shouldn't be that hard, they have dvd in-dash players, and they have mp3 cd players, they even have dvd - cd players that play mp3 cds. it cant be that hard to do this. anyway if anyone see's anything i would love to hear about it.

i like this sites reviews on products, but if you added a pic to what they are reviewing it would be a lot more helpful, atleast to me, i dont like to click on a link and try to find the product just to see what it looks like.

  2. I was at BestBuy last week and they had an in-dash DVD/CD player which had something like a 7 inch screen built into the player. I believe this player also played mp3's however it was not cheap.

The reason this hasn't been done is COST, not difficulty. DVDs require a special type of laser to read them. It's more expensive to build an in dash DVD/CD player than a CD player. All of the indash DVD players I've seen have cost at least $600 and most are a LOT more. I understand where you're coming from, but in all honestly, there's just not that much demand from the consumers for this kind of thing.

People are bad enough at driving as it is. I'd rather carry around a few more disks than have people watching movies while I'm next to them on the road. So whatever the reason for their being rare is fine with me

Here is the link of Audio DVD creator, which I think can help you. Create a 45 hours AC3 @ 192kbps DVD-R audio from this software and put it in your in-dash DVD player and here you go.... Remember, you can have a higher bit rate than MP3 and up to 670kbps
