    Hi,

When using ISOBUSTER, sometimes I encounter "errors" and it'll ask me to ignore, retry or quit. When I play these VCDs in real time to see if anything is wrong with the picture, I learned that these errors are caused because the VCD is messed up in some parts, these parts have glitches, huge distorted blocky artifacts, along with popping sounds. What's the term for this? Corrupted segments?

Anyway, my main question is.. are there any dependable programs, equipments to clean up these corrupted segments. I wish I can just buy these vcds again, but they're no longer in production, so I really need help on trying to clean them up. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanx in advance!

In my experience with vcds errors like that are usually because of scratches on the disc. You might try to buff those scratches out with a disc polish. Then try isobuster again and set it to ignore all errors (be prepared for this to take a very long time). Probably wont be perfect but will more than likely be as good as you can get.

Someone else might have another solution...I'm just speaking from my own experiences.

    Good luck!

Yeah, I've tried that. There are no scratches.. but I tried it anyway, didn't work. This seem to have developed overtime. I'm just perplexed because the VCD was perfect not too long ago, their was no distortion and ripping it was fine. Now, though there are no scratches, somehow these errors have developed. How is that possible?

Bad media possibly. I've had some homemade vcd's just develop bad "spots" over about a years time. The only thing I can think of was that the person that gave them to me used very cheap non-branded media.
