    I've been doing some dvd's with DVD-Lab after rendering several clips in Vegas5 (ac3, -1db) but when I feed everything into DVD-Lab, the first play and main title have the same volume, but the menu volume blasts out ~60db louder than the rest...despite rendering all the ac3 files to the EXACT same specs.

    Am I missing something here?

    I have never observed this and I do all my DVD's with Vegas and DVD-Lab. 60dB? Thats like the difference between my grandma's whisper and a jet engine at 6 meters.
