    hello everyone again was wondering what codec is best for converting dvd to avi which has the best qulity etc
    one problem solved can solve alot of problems

  2. There are tons of answers to this.

    IMO,

    If you're just looking for best quality while still actually using compression than use a lossless codec like HuffyUV, but your file size would be huge.

    For a slightly smaller file size and very little quality loss you could use a lossy codec like PicVideo's MJPEG.

    If file size is an issue than you can get great quality from Xvid and DivX with the right settings, but these formats will take much longer to encode depending upon your system.
