Here is my latest scan from DVDinfopro. Can anyone tell me how to read this? Is this a good test or bad? How do I tell?

That is NOT good at all!
You might want to try NERO CD SPEED TEST because I feel (based on my own experiences) that it might be a bit more accurate.
Also I have a bit of a slow computer and I think that can sometimes affect these RPM SPEED TESTS even when the DVD is a perfectly fine A+ burn.
For instance my results with NERO CD SPEED TEST are better than what I get with DVDInfoPro (using the same hardware and disc) which leads me to believe that DVDInfoPro must be more of a system hog on resources.
But still that is a pretty bad looking scan ... and for Taiyo Yuden DVD-R media?
Something ain't right!

Yeah. Download the latest version of CD-DVDSpeed from:
http://www.cdspeed2000.com/
and post your results. -
Ok, I got Nero CD DVD speed and this is the result. I hope I did it right cause I didn't see anywhere on there a cd speed test. Anyway, here it is....

it is called nero cd dvd speed....(just so my autotool link works...

Here is a scan I made of a DVD that played back without any problems.
I think graphs that look like mine and yours are ideal but still by no means a guarantee of perfection. -
Here is a scan I did using a Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R bought from RIMA.COM
This was burned at 4x on a NEC ND-1300A
My computer is a P3 650Mhz with 256MB RAM and running WinXP Pro SP1
First here is the media code from DVDInfoPro
Here is the image of the RPM TEST using Nero CD DVD SPEED (version 3.50)
This is how a good test should look EXCPET the lines should be straight without any dips. I get dips I think in mine because my computer is so slow.
DVDInfoPro gives erratic results for me which again I think is related to the speed (or lack) of my computer.

I should mention that the media from my scan is Maxell MXLRG02 4x DVD-R.
I believe those little dips were from me using the computer while scanning because I scanned again while eating dinner (away from the computer)and the green line was completely straight. I will do a scan now of a bad but readable disc to try and give you an idea.

Or maybe if you had used a DVD+R you wouldn't have the dips.

Either way I ain't worried about the scans. I know my burns are good

Even the 3500 isn't the greatest reader. I have to use the $9 Toshiba to read discs sometimes because the NEC chokes on them, burns like hell though.

.
Fulcilives, I agree the 1300 is a great burner. It's my oldest burner of my 4, and yet I know I can count on a good burn from it, whereas the other 3 all have their downfalls. Pathetic, really, that my oldest burner is the most trustworthy(My Benq 822 makes awesome +R burns, but has yet to make a single -R that WASN'T a coaster
)

The 5112, that would be the one. When the NEC 3500 gets part way through a disc and chokes, I stick it in the Toshiba and it reads it no problem.

In comparison, here is a scan of a Fujifilm branded CD-R burned at 16x with with media code Prodisc. This is pretty shitty media too but this scan came out ok it seems:
I realize the discs used different write strategies and I am trying to figure out why but I don't think a P-CAV disc should look like that anyway.
