    is anyone here familiar with VLC?

    I'm trying to feed video through it and output using the Color ASCII Art function. I can get it to play that way, but haven't been able to figure out how to save the file like that.

    any tips / info appreciated.

    mmmmm not too sure but have you tried file,wizard and then select the "transcode save to file" option ?
