Sorry gang, still trying to figure this out. I want to:
dump about 35 mini dv tapes (1 hour) onto DVD (1 tape per disc)
so I can view the video clips on my DVD player to plan my editing
(i don't want to wear out the motor on my cam)
I captured 1 tape on my PC (I'm a 17 year MAC guy, the Dell was stupid purchase last year - only to test web stuff) using Roxio and the video quality was nice, but the authoring interface sucks, besides, I want to do this work on my 17" PB at home.
I also tried something called Power Producer that burns the tape directly to disc, but it's an absolute joke - there green snow everywhere and the the video and audio is jerky.
Is capturing with iMovie and then authoring with iDVD my best route? I also have Final Cut Express and would like to avoid buying more software, but i will if there is a better solution out there.
Thanks. BTW, I did try doing a search but DV doesn't search very well with the 3 character minimum.
Thanks

May want to seriously concider get a DV deck if your worried about your camera. For Quick pick and achiving you also may want to think about a program like Footrack See this tip on the Footrack siteOriginally Posted by jumbotronKeeper of the "Unofficial" iMovie FAQ also for the lastest iMovie news click here
