  1. Hello everyone this is my first post so please forgive any terminology I mess up.

I've searched for someone expereincing a similar problem as me, but was unable to turn anything up...

Basically, I have a Sony MircoMV camcorder. I hate the sony software and I get good results bringing my video in (quality wise) thru an s video connection to my aver media tv card. However, at one point in my home movie (sisters graduation) between the ceremony and reception the tape "hiccups" (meaning it pixilates and pauses for a second).

For some reason, TMPG i think believes this is the end of the tape even though there is about 4 minutes more and cuts it off. If I run the video through canpus pro coder to basically reencode the file, no matter what I try (VBR 2 pass, 8000 max bit rate) the quality suffers. However the video from canopus can be burned on a dvd using tpmgenc and dvdwriter.

So in essence, I want to know if there's some way to tell tpmgenc to stop looking for the end of a video on its own and just encode (or since its in mpeg 2 already from teh tv card, just "transcribe") the file into audio/video ts folders without cutting anything off. Lastly, it cuts off at 1.85 GB. Is there a setting somewhere perhaps that denies files bigger than this in tpmgenc? I know my windows settings are okay (NTFS file system and the original file caputred is 2.45 GB).

    Thanks!!

use source range and encode the first part and then use source range and encode after the bad spot and do the second part ..

dont know why procoder would give you bad results though --- it does very good job .... why you buy it ?

I purchased it to convert my microMV movies before I bought the capture card with the hardware mpg2 encoder. I dont know why I cant get good results...its always my luck though!

For my target i use DVDNTSC and i change from CBR 6000 to VBR2 8000
