  1. At least he's doing some good. Can't imagine he's broke though, maybe just trying something different. Good luck to him I say.

Buddha says that, while he may show you the way, only you can truly save yourself, proving once and for all that he's a lazy, fat bastard.

I suspect it's been a dream of his and now he has the time to devote to it. Good for him I also doubt that he's broke

I saw the story on it this morning on the news and he was saying that because of his short hair and uniform, nobody has yet recognized him as a paramedic. Maybe now that the story's out people will be checking them out more

Add him to the list of ex-rockers who really surprise us with their personal lives ....like Ted Nugent and Alice Cooper

Maybe he should have been smart enough to stay with Van Halen. After he left, he sucked and so did Van Halen.

I liked Sammy Hagar, but not with VH and I like DLR with VH but not by himself.

It is pretty cool the things he is doing now though. Although, I can see a situation where publicity would kill the possibility for him, women calling the squad just to meet him.

I mean hell, if Halle Berry starts working as a parametic I bet a pay check I'll have some kind of injury where I'll need her to give me mouth to mouth, hell I might even have a severly torn groin muscle that may require her to wrap it up and/or massage it

Problem is you'll never know if she gets assigned to give Northcat the mouth-to-mouth, or if it's her partner Wally ...who eats a lot of garlic and doesn't believe in toothbrushes

I feel bad that Dave could never really make a go of his solo career. Even with some of the best musicians in his band, he was never able to recapture that raw energy that was Van Halen circa 1984 and prior. On the other hand, Van Halen did quite well post DLR... every album from 5150 through Balance went platinum. I imagine if the brothers Van Halen wouldn't have had the success with Sam that they had... Dave would have been back in a heartbeat. Notice it didn't take too long to ditch Gary Cherone and get Sam back.

read Roth's autobiography, then read some of the interviews from when Sammy Hagar left. you'll find a similar theme running through both - that Eddie is an egomaniac, prone to mood swings, and near-impossible to deal with.

and I disagree - when paired with a good guitarist, Roth's solo albums are great. the first two with Steve Vai are fantastic.
