  1. My friend had to do a clean install of windows xp. He then tried reinstalling the iRiver software, but it had an error. He then tried plugging it in and xp recognizes it as an iRiver Mp3 player but he cannot open it.

    Here is the error:
"A problem occured during your install. Your hard drive may not function properly."

The iRiver player manager says that it cannot connect to the player.

Any ideas or other programs that iRiver can work with?

  2. I have an iRiver player...

You might want to head over to there site and dl there newest software version just in case. Other that that, I would suggest changing the USB port you are using (As in bad port) OR...your USB cord may be fucked...not sure though.

I told him to do that- he was using the front ports (he then changed to the back ones)- and it works fine now. He said that the front ones were working fine before the xp reinstall though...
    Thanks for your help!
