Hello,
I'm gonna try to pick up a wired router this weekend.
I hate to do it but I don't want to wait till the holidays to go on my xbox..... or do some downloading
Besides I should be able to find some pretty cheap with all the rebates....
Kevin
(I have a wireless transmitter [pci card] but I don't have the wireless adapter for the xbox yet - $100 - so I'm gonna spend $10-$30 to get a wired router. How much are patch cables these days??? $10????)Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
The cables aren't very expensive.
I think I paid twelve dollars for a 200 ft. cable. -
Hello,
Thanks bazooka

Ok I gotcha differnt strokes for different folks
Installing a larger HD to play your backups off the HD instead of having to load the DVD-R's all the time is a pretty cool feature though you can switch game at the press of a few buttons never use a disk and the larger the drive the more stuff you can store
But I wont try to deter you with my Jedi mind trick I assume it wouldnt work on you anyway -

Hello,
Man..... DSL is fun!
I watched the new U2 video "VERTIGO" on yahoo....
SWEET
The little video box was crystal clear. But I wanted to watch it at full screen.
Full screen wasn't too bad. It was a little better than videocd quality. Almost svcd you might say.
I'm gonna have so much fun with DSL

My ISP just announced new ADSL very fast broadband access at 6 Mbps.
The only catch, live near the phone exchange under 1.5 kms.
I am also close at around 2 km and I am sure the speed will be less for me when I join next year.
Anyway, I already got a telephone line for it and I'll need to check on what speed I can have and buy a broadband ADSL modem.
Check out: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/communications/0,2000061791,39167474,00.htm
I also made inquires on wireless ISP too. I am not confident of success here as I am on the fringe of signals.
The wireless speed in my area can be as high as 1.5 Mbps but limited in area in my suburb.
I reckon the wireless signals here for me maybe so poor with drop outs. I noted that a modem on the window or up high as the best way to receive wireless Internet access in this situation.
Looks as though ADSL as the only real option for me as cable as not available here.I am a computer and movie addict -
If you're JUST outside the 6Mbps area, you may still qualify for 3Mbps if they offer it. You could always call your ISP to find out more.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -
