    Hello,
I'm considering purchasing a CD/DVD print capable printer, as I need to purchase a new printer anyway. I've looked at this comparison chart:
    http://www.epson.com/cmc_upload/0/000/048/181/R320_FamComparison.pdf
and could not find much difference other than features such as PC-Free use and a mini preview display monitor. As far as print quality goes, the dpi is the same for all three. Is there any quality advantage to the higher (more expensive) models?
    Thank you.

  2. nope, all print exactly the same. As you mentioned, they just have added features (print without computer from SD cards, and a little LCD display)

There is one point to note and that’s the R200 has to be 3 inches from the wall as the CD tray protrudes from the back unlike the R300 witch is a larger printer anyway also on the R300 I can set the offset on the printer to line up and it remembers even when turned off don’t know if the R200 can do this. I look forward to the day when no tray is needed easy to line up works great with Surething label programme

Very good output, just make sure the blanks are as white as possible otherwise blues can print a bit purple (blue & grey mixed)
Ink can cost a bundle 6 carts can do just over 200 CD’s in photo mode approx

Thanks for the feedback. I'm seeing a set of the 6 ink cartridges for 15.00 on eBay (remanufactured cartridges of course), so that's not too bad. I'm assuming instructions on how to use the CD printer are included. Has anyone had any experience using Acoustica Label Maker with this printer? I could just save the image and print via a different program if necessary

    caseek,

The printer is bundled with Epson print CD software.
Very easy to use. There you set your inner diameter, outer, position adjustment, etc

You can use any editing software to create or modify a picture and then use the Epson s/w to print.
I use Photoshop and Epson print CD.

Yep ... just like rickthered says make your lables with photoshop or similar software (or you could download ready made labels) then import them into epsom print cd (open print cd and click the import tab) make the required adjustments so that the label covers the required area of the cd/dvd and click print .... its so easy you can almost do it blindfolded

  8. I have the R200.
As others have mentioned ink cartrig sets are not cheap. You can get after market cartriges for less. I think lowest I saw was around $2.50-$3. each, it's in another post here abut the R200.

For this reason I only use my R200 for DVD/CD printing. Everything else I use my Canon I850 to print. For all practical purposes they are equal quality even though the Canon is only a 4 color printer. I can refill those carts extremly easy and the cost is down to around $1 or less depending how much ink I buy at once.

My R200 is working fine. The extra stuff like media card printing was the only real differences between the 200 and 300 that I could see when I bought mine. Actual printing is the same for both.
    I haven't looked at the 320 yet.

Does anyone know if you can purchase an LCD display (for an R320 or R300M) separately for use with the R300? The R300 has the mount and connection already on the unit. I don't know if the firmware would need to be updated either. I have the R300 and am very happy with it after printing numerous 4 x 6 borderless photos (and a few DVD's). However, it would be nice to preview the images (PC free) on the flash cards without having to print an index sheet.

  10. I'm getting the r200, its a new and surprised addition (rebate from digital camera). I already have regular cd-rs and lables. Will it print on a blank label stuck to a cd-r?
