  1. I use Nero 5.5. When I try to make VCD`s from various mpeg clips, they`re getting tested by the program, and then it tells me "the file xxx.mpg is invalid, for VCD needed are audio 44.1 khz, stereo, 224kbit/s, video etc." It seems that 90% of my mpegs are not in the format NERO wants.
Then it asks me to "avoid VCD standard, abort, or convert again before burning". When I use "convert", the mpeg files are getting converted before being burned, but since this takes hours,

How can I convert them right outside of NERO?

You Didn't tell wich program you used to capture. If you captured in AVI and transformed the file to Mpeg with some program(like tmpgenc),they generally have templates that generates the files in the correct format.
I Particularly doesn't use this procedure.I Use The Software Ulead Media Studio Pro 6.5(you can get a trial vertion at http://www.ulead.com),With This software, you can capture straight to Mpeg1,in the exact vcd format.Afterthat you can edit the video, when you create the final file,it's fully compatible with the Svcd format, and nero accepts the file with no messages(nero 5.5),(This afternoon,I Captured a Vhstape-the beauty and the beast),and recorded a vcd that worked perfectly on my Dvd Player...

  5. The faq helps me a lot, I`ll try to convert via TMPGEnc. These videos are all downloaded video clips, not made by myself.

  6. I multiplexed some of my mpegs, I wondered that the multiplexed outputs have different sizes, (some larger, sdome smaller) than the inputs. Whats the reason?

Some gave error messages: "25868 s packet cause buffer underflow, The mpeg may cause error when its played". Since it ran okay on realplayer afterwards, is this serious?
