  1. Need HELP!

I ripped a DVD using flexion's DVD to VCD guide. Used smartripper - ok. Converted wav to mp2 using toolame - ok? Then converted d2v to avi using VFAPICodec which I tried to open in Virtual Dub. VDub can't recognize file.

I have dvd2avi.vfp in the same folder as dvd2avi.exe. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  2. Did you install VFAPICodec?
Run the file vifpset.bat and then it should work.

  3. Yup, I already did install VFAPICodec, ran vifpset.bat and converted d2v to avi. Still, VDub can't determine file type of resulting avi.

    More help, please!

  5. we'll i was not going to answer because i don't have your problem solved but the same thing that is happening to you happened to me. I am not sure exactly what i did to get mine working but i know i kept messing with it and i was able to finaly get virtualdub to open it. I know i reinstalled virtualdub to another directory and made sure i installed the handler and then rebooted the computer. I think i also installed vfapi again. I just recently reformatted my hard drive and again ran into the problem you are having so i reinstalled everything again changing there directory and not putting the files in a folder, just leaving them in my directory. Don't ask me why this did the job. all i know is it started working and that is all that matters. YOu could try defragmenting your harddrive or running a utility like norton. this sometimes fixes the registry and or harddrives. I know this might not help you but give it a try and sooner hopefully then later it will magically appear like mine did. Hope this gets you started to finding the problem.
