  1. Hi, I wantet to make a collection dvd out of some of my anime episodes..
Anyway, when I try to import the avi files (file) i only get this message:
Could not import file Naruto - 01 TW.avi.

Video files for this project must have a resolution of 720x576 or 704x576.
So, how do I fix this? Any reasoanble possibility to fix this so I can burn it to dvd and play it..
    CrAp!

What format are you AVI files in? Open them in GSPOT and post the info here, so we can determine the proper method.

What is the resolution of the file? and what format is the audio in: PCM, MP3, MP2, or AC3?

Yep, that's a problem with Encore. It will only accept video in what is sees as the proper reolution.

You'll need to convert your clips to either of those resolutions. When I've got video in other resolutions I've been using TMPGEnc to transcode it to MPEG2 before inporting it into Encore.

    It's worked for me.

  8. Ok, il'l try that! But, can I "mass convert" files? I mean, I have like 109 episodes! :P
So, It'l take some time to convert those...

    Two choices...
    1) Let your computer do some major crunching over the next few days..
    2) Capture directly into MPEG....

    The second choice is better..
Drop Encore, and go for something simpler..Not necessary..

You can load them all (one at a time) into tmpgenc and add them to a batch list, then hit go and let it process them all until finished. As pijetro pointed out though, you are looking at a couple of days potentially

  11. That will work, and no, Encore is not to andvance so I still want to use that..
Anyway.. When i Try to make divx -> mpeg with tmpeg shouldent I rip the sound by itself? Think I read that someplace! And then I would have to do it manually on all episodes!

Procoder has a batch function, just drag and drop all 109 eps in, and will convert them for you.

Procoder express has a "WATCH FOLDER". Create an empty folder, move all of your avi's over, and Procoder Express will convert everything in that folder to your desired target.

You could create avs's for each ep. AVISynthesizer would make this easy. Supports right-click extenstions, and custom teplates. Drag and drop all avs files into CCE (SP or Basic) and it too will encode all to desired target.

Those 3 options are a little easier than creating batch encodes with TMPG and/or Mainconcept's MPEG encoder. Though, both of those have short cuts to add to batch, ctrl-alt-m for TMPG, and Insert for MPEG Encoder.

Other options are an authoring app that will re-encode for you. But you mentioned you are happy with encore, so no need to mention this.
