Well Staples was having problems getting the 60 GB in for the $40 bucks price so ... they did this for me. I bought two of them for $85 bucks.

Very nice. If I could have gotten the 80s for that price, I'd have done it. The 80s also have the 8M buffer.

  4. All hard drives fail. I don't think there's one more reliable than the next but there are ones that are crappier than the rest. You just have to backup often. The thing to look for is the warranty. If I were you I'd go with Seagate. They offer a 5 year warranty. Maxtor and WD only offer 1 year. Cmon. They are begging for it to break so you can go out and buy a new one from them.

I gave the new 60 GB "NOV 2004" ... I already installed it and I'm transfering files back to it as I type this.

The 60 GB I replaced ... was built Feb 09 2001 and the warranty ended May 2004.

and the two 80 GBs ... will have similar names. At least I will know how long they lasted ...

I will pass it on to someone ... they probably wont work it as bad as I do.

I'm like everybody else here at this website ... video capture ... video capture ... video capture ... rah ! rah ! rah !

Hmmm ... maybe TIMEX should make Hard Drives ... they take a lickin and keep on tickin
