ULead Video Studio 8 Crashes When I Import Audio?!?!?!?

I have been using the ULead Video Studio products for a while, and have really learned to ge tthe most of them. I can put together some pretty slick stuff in no time these days.

My problem is, all of a sudden, whenever I go to import a WAV or MP3 into my project, the whole program just automatically closes or crashes. This has never happened before. I tried several reinstalls...no dice. I even uninstalled every recent program I had installed to see if there was some sort of conflict.

Anyone else have this program, or know how to resolve it?

Any and all help is appreciated as I'm really lost for a solution.

Have you updated it? The bug fixes mentions something about crashing/audio. http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp.htm

Sadly, yes. I installed the most recent patches/updates and still no changes. I'm trying to remember if I installed any windows updates recently that may have screwed things up.
