I was reading all sorts of reviews on the net on HTIB but wanted to get everyone's opinion on what they think is the best.

    Thanks

  2. I like the Onkyo's that are selling at Fry's. Make sure you get one with plenty of power and a strong sub. If not you'll grow tired of it soon. Stay away from tiny speakers.

  3. bose are small and are great... your living in the 80's... for satalite speakers IT DOES NOT MATTER THE SIZE.. look at wattage.. you get what you pay for

    I once bought a boxset (M200 + M6000 Classic) from http://www.teufel.de/index.cfm
If you got the chance to get your hands on one of there theatre systems (I know, maybe unpossible outside Europe) you will be well adviced!

    bye Daphy

FYI - BOSE is overrated. There is better available for less.

  6. Bose are way overpriced for what they are. Ask anyone, their midrange sucks and at high volume levels they sound nothing like a quality system should. Size does matter when picking speakers since a 5.1 channel amplifier can and will send bass to to all speakers. If your speakers are small then only the sub will receive the bass and won't sound as good. I made the mistake of buying small JBL's and now I am replacing them after 6 months.

  7. I have Yamaha FX450 with wharfdale speakers. Works great and comes at much cheaper price.

    A true value for money

  8. i think the saying is no high's no low's it must be bose??? totally overrated. I work in a store that sells home theatre and we used to sell bose. I could take a paradigm package for less money and sound better than bose ever thought about sounding. We actually had the displays side by side and we had to eventuall take the paradigm down because we never sold bose with it there...just my thoughts...

In defense of harryford, I think most people don't care if there is more or less bass.
The old PBS series on rock n roll taught me that.
