Radioshack is selling a DVD Recorder under they're own in house Centrios brand. The Manager guessed that it's rebranded LiteOn 5101. What do you guys think?

Sort of looks like a Magnavox, but probably a LiteOn unit like you said.

Have the Manger open the unit and look at the main board for part numbers and or logo. Take a couple of pictures if its not obvious who the manufacturer is and post them.

I this post I have take a picture of a Lite-On 5005 from Costco. Note the model and part number in the lower left.

I asked him. He refused. But did state information from the factory indicated it was a LiteOn. But wasn't sure. They're is a seal, so if I buy it and open it up, the warranty is void, and they probably won't let me return it. What model is the question. Could even be the older 5001. I'll endeavour to E-mail Centrios if I can find the address, and see what they say.

    I haven't seen a menu screen.

IF the Centrios is a LiteOn it has the LSI chip. Superior image reproduction to the Aspire. Which itself is a rebranded Sanyo. Can't recall what chip that one had. But Lord smurf mentioned that the quality of the Sanyo did not match the LiteOn.
