Whenever I open the "Game Controllers" screen in Control Panel in Windows XP, the system waits a little bit, then the controllers screen shows up, but it becomes unresponsive after three seconds and I have to end program. These are the details of the error message:

    szAppName : rundll32.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.2180 szModName : hungapp
    szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

I have the latest sound card drivers, and have tried reinstalling the game port. I also have the latest version of DirectX. I have never tried installing a gamepad on this computer before so I don't know if it ever worked. I have looked all over Google and Microsoft support without finding any information about how to fix such an issue.

I have a new racing game I really want to play, but I can't until I can install my gamepad. Please help!

Thanks for the link. Yes, I am using SP2 and installed SP2 as soon as I installed Windows. I actually speak Russian and read it too (although badly). Unfortunatly, the guy's post is in Danish, not Russian. It doesn't look like anybody answered his question anyway. I tried auto-translating his post:

I cart WindowsXP home. dk. SP2

Here you go should i into " bureau" amid characters by monitor. however i could no come in. there occurs not a soul bad, and i gets a fault box up catching i experiences that lock that.

    szAppName" : rundll32.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.2180 szModName : hungapp
    szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset: 00000000"

    CDOCUME1ThoroLOKALE1TempWER3557.dir00rundll32.exe. mdmp":\~\\~\\\"

    "CDOCUME1ThoroLOKALE1TempWER3557.dir00appcompat.tx t:\~\\~\\\"

The topic, Pauseskærm osv. works i'm pretty well. at nearly my bureau. i sat therefore my WinXP CD to and sat the to that cart a rap. at windows.

After rap operated my bureau i'm pretty well.

Behindhand ins. i so SP2. again when i believed that that only were a absurd fault to windows [ has decent why proven ante ] however actually works that sku no again

Some there has consulted about that ante and has a answer at that??

Still have not been able to fix my problem. Reinstalled all sorts of drivers. Took out HijackThis entries, uninstalled programs, tried registry cleaning programs, scanned for Spyware. Nothing has helped.

I searched all over Google for things like "control panel crashes", and "control panel freezes" and a few people have had similar problems. Unfortunatly, the advice they are given is always "run Spybot". Some people eventually fixed their problem... by reinstalling windows. I do not want to do that. Playing FORD ******* RACING 2 is not worth reinstalling Windows.

    Can anyone please help!?
