  1. Hi everyone, got a couple of questions.

If I have an AVI file that is identified as 25fps within windows properties and when loaded into TMPExpress 3.0, it see it as 29fps, which template should I use PAL or NTSC.

Also, when everything is done and the DVD is created in DVD author, it plays fine on my PC as a DVD, but the lipsync is out on my standalone player. Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Mark

If the AVI file is 25fps then it is 25fps.

    This is the PAL standard.

My guess is you are trying to make a NTSC DVD but it is not so easy as what you are doing.

There are guides that cover this though most are set up to work with Cinema Craft Encoder or the normal version of TMPGEnc often called TMPGEnc Plus.

In short I don't know how you would do it with TMPGEnc Xpress as I have never used that version myself.

  3. John, thanks for that. It was more of a why was TMP reporting it differently to the windows properties, so I took it as is from what TMP was reporting, that's propably why the sync was slightly out. I'll use the templates as how windows reports it next time.

    Cheers

Or better yet - use GSpot to tell you all AVI properties. (Or load it in VirtualDub and view file properties for a summary).
