    Northcat,

I will only give you so much leeway as to the remarks you make here. As a teacher, and I must assume you are, you CANNOT give authority to any cop to Tase your 6 year olds.

If you are an elementary teacher, and can't handle the 6 year olds, you should seek another profession.

I have had too much beer, must defer till tomorrow for full rebuttal.

    Sorry,

    George

You know, I do not recall anything that you have posted that makes any sense at all. Pure jackoff?

You don't like that I am from a geo area that you might also be in, well, **** you, Jack (off).

You are the only dork who has ever gotten this response from me. Most others I consider as worthy adversaries. Give and take, as it were.

You just puke your shit, and I do not have to listen. **** OFF, JERK!!!

    Cheers,

    George

I am astounded that a six-year old could be so troubled. It's possible, I guess, that there are medical causes, but why now and not a generation or two ago? My wife says almost half of the kids in some classes are on Ritalin or something similar. Doesn't seem to be improving things. sad.gif
I don't agree with having the police use a taser but in response to what Fritzi wrote above. I work in social services and see kids as young as 2-3 years old who have behavior problems. It could be medical causes but the majority is because most of these kids have been drug exposed in utero. Sad to say but the school teachers ended up getting brunt of it. These kids that are exposed will normally show the drug exposure behavioral problems at the time they enter school or in their toddler stages. I agree Ritalin is not the answer. I'll leave it at that.

You're right, of course, you've put your finger on a likely explanation. My wife tells me about druggie mothers often. Forgot to take that into consideration when posting. No doubt there are some whose problems stem from in utero exposure to drugs.

Have there been actual studies about the effects of in utero exposure? Human studies can be a touchy subject. And does Ritalin actually help in those cases? I still think Ritalin is vastly overprescribed. How often is the problem discipline/upbringing rather than medical condition? I don't know.

So if you are a high school teacher and can't handle the 16 year olds, should you still seek another profession??

Careful now that is a loaded question, there are numerous teachers who can't handle the 16 year olds, BUT their means of "handling" them is to kick them out of their class when behavior gets spirited.
