  3. yep i've read in meantime , but 352 x 576 (pal) gives a very strange picture (lets say i have to turn my monitor 90 to see it in good shape - or how do u say this), can't imagine thats oke on tv later ... for example 480 x 360 is more in shape, or do i see it wrong .... ?

If you are gonna make dvd will 352x576 look okey on your tv. The image will be stretched to correct aspect ratio, 4:3= 768x576.

If you have an ATI card then you can't really use VirtualDub as a capture utility. I mean there might be a way but it surely is not worth it.

ATI cards seems to work best when you use the special ATI software. You might want to try VirtualVCR but I don't know if that will work with ATI cards either.

LordSmurf (a long time member of this website) has created his own website that has a lot of general knowledge about captureing but leans towards using the ATI cards.

Here is that website by LordSmurf:

    http://www.digitalfaq.com/

So in short forget about using VirtualDub with an ATI capture card.

    Good Luck!

That's not correct! My Radeon AIW works fine with VirtualDub, AV_IO and VirtualVCR as well. It's a few years since I set my system up but I think all I needed to do was to install some VFW wrapper software and it's been fine ever since.

Well that was my point when I said that you probably could get VirtualDub to work but that it likely isn't worth it because installing a VFW wrapper for use with a WDM driver is a "tricky" thing to do, i.e., getting it to work correctly.

The ATI AIW cards works fine with certain version of virtualdub, but ATI MMC will give most control and best results. I do not currently have my virtualdub guides online (which cover basic use, plus some ATI notes, coming soon), but the ATI MMC guides are there. www.digitalFAQ.com

  10. I've been on lordsmurf site before asking, lot of useful info, but i didn't read this gap anywhere ....

Wdm-driver correct, i didn't mention so think it's standard .... Read about the ati mmc software, but i don't have such on my pc, didn't come with my machine.

Rather by another card then ? Virtualdub was the only programm that did the trick for me in capturing analog (studio pinnacle 9 & ulead x have no audio) but only up to early mentioned sizes.

The whole project was a trial for me, now it's an case of honor to get it to work :P

I could be wrong but ... if you have an ATI capture card ... even if it is a third party ATI card (like those Sapphire cards that use ATI guts) can't you just download the ATI MMC software from the ATI website for free?

"UCI" is a DVD player error. Custom install ATI MMC and don't install that crap DVD player, but use everything else.

What are you doing with Eazyshare?

You want the "TV" icon of ATI MMC.
