Fed express fucked up my order from Newegg.com. The idiots shipped my order to Memphis, TN. Yesterday I was a happy camper finding out Newegg shipped my order FED EX PRIORITY OVERNIGHT DELIVERY because they had computer problems in their warehouse for a few days that had delayed my order, which was placed on Monday. Then to my horror I checked the tracking to find out my box is in Memphis, TN. I called customer service at Newegg which they told me I had to contact FED EX. The nice FED EX customer service chick told me there was a radar problem in TN which is why the package will not arrive by 5:00 p.m. today but I would receive my package on Monday. I was pissed off and told her how the hell would my package go from Los Angeles, CA. to FLORIDA to TN when it is suppose to be delivered to Honolulu, Hawaii. She sighed and asked me how do I know it went to Florida. I told her check your pc and she said, "Oh, I am sorry it must have been a handlers mistake". I told her no really, you think!!!!!!
She told me I would receive my box on Monday by 5:00 p.m. I did file a complaint with FED EX which I don't think will mean a fuckin thing. It seems i always get fucked over one way or another.

Newegg is one of the better sites. They've sent countless orders to me on-time, and have never screwed up the order.

I have never had problems with Newegg and I don't fault them for this mishap. The responsible party to blame is FED EX not Newegg. Newegg was nice enough to send my order OVERNIGHT DELIVERY at no extra charge but FED EX fucked it up.

I just got off the phone with Newegg and was told if I do not get the box on Monday they will file a claim against FED EX to get a full refund then send the same components that I had ordered. God I just thought of what if that order gets fucked up tool

While almost everything FedEx Express goes through Memphis and if there were weather or airport problems down there then it would be stuck there. Memphis is the main Express hub. My last two FedEx shipments came through via Memphis, and especially if an order is going out to AK or HI it will go through there.

I'll still take FedEx over DHL, UPS, or USPS anyday. I've only had one delay with FedEx once because I forgot to change a ZIP code on something (my fault), yet I've had one UPS order left in the rain (and it had been raining all day) which ruined the books I got on eBay (complete loss), another never arrived (fortunately that was replaced by the sender), and everytime I receive something priority USPS is takes almost a week to get and I don't live out in the sticks. I don't trust the German Postal Authority just yet, their network isn't as big and they don't own a copy shop on the side

That's odd that you say if an order is going out to AK or HI it would go through Memphis. I don't think that is true because all of my other orders never went through Memphis. Although you said Memphis is FED EX hub, a package that is on route to Honolulu, Hawaii from California in my opinion it's silly to fly all the way over in the complete opposite direction of where it is suppose to delivered to.

All my other orders I've placed with Newegg have been shipped from Los Angeles, Ca. then to Oakland, Ca. then to Honolulu, Hawaii. If the order originated from Newegg's New Jersey warehouse it came via N.J. to Oakland, Ca. then to Honolulu, Hawaii. This is just the case of some idiot working at FED EX who put my package out on the wrong fuckin FED EX plane. Geez! The holiday season approaches and I heard on the news that UPS hired hundreds of newbies!!!!!

Oakland is a mini hub for Fedex, but most things do go through Memphis. I'll still take Fedex over UPS as I've gotten raped by UPS prices too many times.

Too many good things to say about Newegg to go into here!

You go where the flights take you. Take for instance a local int'l airport (let's say MSP here by me for example) can only handle 2-3 MD-11s, FedEx's major freight mover. Where will those few planes go to best route all the packages? To their primary hubs like Memphis and then probably to New York, Chicago, Sav Fran, or Dallas, wherever the flights work out to get the packages to places. You can't just have layover flights like an airline does somewhere in-between the destination, the logistics don't work out. And you certainly won't be seeing direct flights unless it's to/from a hub. It's all done between 7pm and 8am, and when you think of how much flight time there is between those times it isn't very surprising that packages can go all over and still get there on time. That's at least why things would end up in Memphis. I dunno why it hopped down to FL unless that was the only connecting flight, but Newark is big enough not to need connecting flights via anywhere else.

Thanks for all the replies to my ranting about FED EX. About a hour ago I had a knock on my door with 2 dudes yelling FED EX!!!!! I opened my door telling them," wow that package came from MEMPHIS really FAST"! The 2 dudes looked quite puzzled and told me ummm whatcha talking about. I told them I thought the box was stuck in MEMPHIS according to their website and customer service. One dude tells me aren't you expecting this box? I said ummmm unless a motherboard can fit in that small box perhaps they sent my order in 2 boxes or somthing.

So the dude handed me the small box and LMFAO it was a box from MAXTOR, my replacement 200 gb hard drive. I completely forgot about it cuz MAXTOR didn't give me any tracking info. I told the dudes about my newegg order stuck in MEMPHIS. The one dude said my box was probably put into the wrong bin because only items coming from the east coast go through MEMPHIS. I got my replacement hard drive so I'm happy for the moment.

The ranting was about FED EX it was never about Newegg. Newegg is the best when it comes to "eggcellent" customer service and best prices.

Yeah in general I trust FedEx alot more then UPS. They are faster (even to me out in the middle of nowhere) and alot more reliable.

Look at it this way, at least your package didn't end up in alaska like a friends did with UPS.

I only just got my DVDs from the States on Thursday on UPS.

You know what, I have to pay tax and customs duty using the express service into Australia.

This is the first time to pay and before as NIL using normal postage.

There was a delay of some days as well due to this clearance problem at Customs.

Me, never again use UPS and what a rip off on something from overseas.

I'll have to cut down the orders to avoid the extra costs or doing on normal postage.

Looks as though more mistakes will happen and going to the wrong places.
    :P

If bad luck, might have to wait after Xmas on your delivery.

Yup, I'm lucky my package (Maxtor hard drive) didn't end up in Alaska but my newegg order is stuck in Memphis!

Since you all have brought up UPS they do suck cuz of friend of mine had problems. The problem is the UPS driver in that area is too lazy to walk up 2 flights of stairs so the package is left with a neighbor who lives on the bottom floor. The UPS guy never walks up the stairs so my friend who is home never gets the package until he checks the tracking only to find out his neighbor signed for it. Talk about lazyass UPS dudes!

I ordered a part and it was shipped through the post office, priority mail. Didn't show up after 3 weeks. I checked the tracking and the PO said it was placed in my box on Cct. 25. Checked with the PO they said the mailman only scans it when it is placed in the box. Nothing they could do (Must be my fault?)

I reordered, this time UPS. A week later there are two boxes in my PO box. The new order and the old one. The company can't seem to tell the difference between USPS and UPS. No problem. Anyway, the original box is dated as shipped on Oct. 10. This means the PO lost the damn thing for a month, then lied about it. Can't trust anybody. Now I got two of the thing I only wanted one of.

I would trust UPS or FedEx any day over the USPS.

That's bad luck ChrisX. I've had countless FedEx
DHL and UPS deliveries and not got caught yet. I did
have a package held on query from Hawaii
via UPS one time but it passed.. phew! The duty
    would have cost me $$$

I've just ordered some stuff from NYC but this time
I'm getting it Global Priority Mail and I got the
guy to mark 'em as gifts from a private Manhattan
address. If it balls up I'll post about it.

It was bad luck and the first time all because of a private courier service from the States. The delivery was delayed due to customs clearance too.

Do you know that the maximum value of goods to enter Australia without paying is $AU250.00 using private courier service such as FedEx, DHL and UPS?

My goods value was over the limit and I have to pay GST and Customs Duty.

This is equivalent of 16% tax. Australia’s tax system is shocking and I have to pay GST on the duty as well.

For me on a large order to deliver is to go on normal postage as a way around to avoid the tax. The limit that way is much higher at $AU1,000.00 using Australia Post as a delivery agent.

For me by postage of a parcel will take a little longer to wait for it and I don’t mind.
