Looking to put mpeg2 video which been generated by SONY DVD camcorder on a standard dvd disc..... any one knows how or any suggestion of any programs out there would do the job properly........

I think more or less every DVD authoring program should be able to do this?!
Maybe it is necessary to demultiplex your SONY mpeg to elementary streams, transcode the audio to 48kHz MP2 or AC3 and use these for authoring. Normally TMPGEnc DVD Author can do these steps alone. If you want to use freeware, you may try pvastrumento or projectx to demultiplex, BeSweet to trancode the audio and dvdauthorgui or GUI for dvdauthor or ifoedit (without menus) to author the final DVD.
