  1. I am struggling with getting a DVD to burn correctly. I have the VIDEO_TS Directory from a recent movie that I would like to check out. The original DVD is long gone. Anyway, I have been trying to get this thing to play in my Sony DVD player for weeks. I have used AnyDVD and CloneDVD 1000's of times, but this time its not working. The problem is that once I burn it with any config, my Sony DVD player will not play it because of regional settings. My player is Region 1 only. I have checked the "region-free" options in AnyDVD and it doesnt work. I also did it in DVDDecryptor, with the same results. I have burned it 7 times, but it will not play. It plays fine in my pC. Any help would be great.

Your PC DVD player has a region setting too. The fact that it plays OK suggests that your copy is already region-free. Verify your DVD-ROM region setting in Device Manager.

That leaves the most likely three possibilities: Non-DVD-compliant or corrupt files ...or bad media ...or wrong format (NTSC or PAL).

  3. OK. My DVD writer is set to Region 1.

I burned this DVD the same way I have every other and they all worked fine. I have also burned other movies with this media type and they workd fine, so it cant be this media type. Another thing I didnt mention is that I have the VIDEO_TS dir on my hard drive and I can open these files directly from the drive and read them. I can also watch the DVDR's I burned in my pC. Its just my Sony DVD player. I also tried my PS2 and it failed as well. I do not know anything about NTSC or PAL? What is that about?

    Hello,

NTSC is North American video format - 30 fps

PAL is Eruopean - 25 fps.

  5. OK. How can I tell or change the DVD files? I assume that my DVD player will only play NTSC sice it only plays Region 1. Is there any way for me to change the VIDEO_TS dir files to NSC or check what they are now?
