  1. I am trying to play a divx file, never had a problem before. Opened it with Gspot and it says it is a divx 5.0 file, however the audio portion says 0x00ff: unknown

Is there anyway to find out what codec is needed to play the sound for this file?
    Thanks All

    Hello,

It might be ac3. You could try ac3filter and see if that helps.

Last resort would be to load it into virtualdub and save the audio as a seperate wav file
