Just curious how others pay their bills. I pay everything online by either Credit Card / Check Card or electronic check. All but rent, because it's paid to an individual and I just pay him cash every month. I avoid paper checks like the plague, I've had my share of bank screw-ups; some my fault, some the banks'.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

  2. I would use a bill pay service if my bank offered it for free, but now I just pay them all online at each payee's site with the exception of my water/trash which I have to pay via phone cause they are old school.

    I haven't bought a stamp in years

    Online through my bank.

I work at a bank, so it would be kinda hypocritical if I didn't
    If in doubt, Google it.

I do that too...but only for some.

The others are checks or paid in person.

I don't have that many bills anyway...though ones I have will take me some time to pay off.

I usually pay what I can online and write checks for the rest.

  9. I have a seperate bills account which has money transferred from my main account every month by standing order. All my bills are then paid from this account by direct debit. Means I dont have to worry about paying a single bill or how much cash I have left towards the end of the month because I know all bills are covered by this account.

  10. Nearly all by direct debit too.

Its not listed as an option, is this system not available in the US or elsewhere

I pay as many as I can online or by direct drafting. Those checks I have to mail out however, have a tendancy to be a little "tardy" from time to time just because I forget to mail them out.

Check Free. I've been using them since before they had a website. Used to have their own dialup number and software

You DO realize that paying bills/rent is one of the BIGGEST scams of the century? Total THEFT.

I'm just curious why we don't pay the "Oxygen Tax" already!?

Just wait, tho'! I read in a newspaper a few months ago about scientists discovering that the oxygen levels in the atmosphere were going DOWN! ( - due to deforestation, leakage, etc). So maybe the "Oxygen Tax" will become reality soon!

Gee I'm glad I never had kids...

Ha ha, what about "sub-atomic matter" rent? :P Maybe they'll start charging us rent for tenancy in our physical bodies?

    Hello,

Hey, we're going to have to start paying royalties for our own genes....

Remember they've copyrighted a bunch of stuff during that GENE hunt they did in the 90's.....

Check Free, for a long time now, long before their web site. I can't stand writing/mailing checks. I've had the same box of 3d checks now for over 10 years. The calendar on the register does ended in 2002.

  24. I don't pay any bills, I'm unemployed

When I did have a job, I paid everything online via my bank. I actually have no idea where my check book is. I haven't written a check in at least 5 years
