I took the cover off my new RCA DRC8005N. The drive it uses is a Ricoh. The chips inside are:
Omega DVD STM5589AVB
An NEC chip (couldn't get any numbers),
and one marked "Atera Cyclone"
Anyone familiar with any of these chips and the ruputation they may have? It's only for curiosity since I hear so much about ARm and LSI. And I want to add as much info as possible about the recorder to the database on this site.
This has a stereo tuner if anyone was curious.
