  1. I am trying to find 2 programs on a Mac where I can cut scenes of a Avi files and I am also looking for a program to where I can covert it to VCD Mpg?

  2. You can edit AVIs with QuickTime PRO, FinalCut PRO, FinalCut Express, Adobe Premiere...Just make sure to install latest DivX and 3ViX components for QuickTime first...

    There is a lot of shareware, freeware and PRO options for making VCDs of Your AVIs...The best way is to do a search on Versiontracker.com or Macupdate and choose an app which is best for You...Also, there is a lot of comments and tips and tricks here regarding MPEG encoding, so do a search here too..

    once you get them "cut" the easiest way to get them over to mpeg is to acutally use Toast 6 and its video to svcd/vcd functions

    save the resulting image to your HD, then use gumby or vcdtoolsx to rip out the mpeg file.
    Or you can even burn them as VCD/SVCD if you like

    OR you can just go .avi to dvd and be done with it
