    Ok, heres my problem.

I'm using DVD Shrink and IMG Tool (with Nero) to author my DVD backups. This method has worked for me for literally hundreds of DVD's

But I went to make and copy of a copy and DVD Shrink gives me a UDF error?! What am I doing wrong? Why can I not make copies of my copies?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

Use another program. You can even use dvd decrypter. Just set it to iso read...then iso write to burn.

Often the "original" rip has read errors, not noticable when playing in DVD player, but making it hard to copy...

A few errors are common. The player is tolerant of those and your eye never sees them when it's playing back.

But a digital copying operation expects the data to be perfect and error-free, and can generate errors and even abort the operation depending on the copying app.

There is another one reason. I had a similar problem a few weeks ago.
After several days of testing and analysing the problem was discovered: my 1 year old TEAC DVD-ROM drive! It reads the source DVD with unnoticeable errors... DVD Shrink itself notices them and... you know the result.

Try to read or decrypt the source with another drive. For me it works.

When I change my DVD reader with a Sony (for example) everything becomes like it was before.

    Success!
