I will say one thing about the Sex Pistols...
Although I think they totally suck...
Johnny Rotten was/is a REAL punk!!!

I lean heavily towards 80's speed metal and hair band music, being a shredder, and after that just about anything 70s will get my attention and make me pause at least momentarily as I'm perusing the FM dial."There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon." -- Raoul Duke -
No absolute favorites, but I'll pitch in...
-Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Tomahawk, FNM, Dillenger Escape Plan EP)
-Clutch
-Pink Floyd
-John Zorn
-Mastodon
That's today's playlist, anyway...the rest of the time it's movie soundtracks, world music (Turkish folk music, tabla ensembles, bluegrass...), TV theme songs ("The Crime Scene": 50's cop show soundtracks, eg), or Japanese punk: Melt Banana, Boredoms, Zubi Zuba, Ruins...stuff like that.
Not too into the classic rock, as my parents overplayed most of the stuff that everyone here listed, and the local classic rock station plays it every day, over and over, the same 50 or so songs.
Not really too into the so-called "modern rock", either...too much chin-wagging singers and 'tortured soul'-type douchebags whining about the struggle within and the injustice without...all from the soul-scourching hell of their parent's basement.
Just picked this up, better late than never:
The rest of the time I just bitch about how much I hate music and the people who 'make it'.....or spend their whole lives convinced they're gonna "MAEK IT".
