Am getting horizontal wave ripples on finished DVD ?? help !

Hi,
I'm running as many tests as I can whilst I type this on my other computer.

I have burnt about 300 DVDs on my PC without a problem, but all of a sudden I have these horizontal wave like ripples that happen every couple of seconds or so accross the screen. ( Very annoying )

What has changed ?
I have a new batch of Riteks from different supplier ( Have checked using DVDinfoPro and they are apparently Ritek G04's, same as all year.

I'm also wondering if the new riteks don't like pushing past the 4 gig mark ? 3 of 4 dvd's that have gone funny were over 4 gig whilst the 3.5 gig disk seems OK for now ? I read that the new Riteks have changed their purple dye mix or something ???

I also chose to save some time last week and install the latest version of debugmode framserver for Vegas 4 and I did create my mpg2 files by framserving to Procoder 1.5 instead of first creating the large master avi.

I just burnt one of the buggy DVDs onto a TDK - RW and that has the same wobbling effects throughout it.

Has anybody seen this kind of thing before ?

My captured avi's are all lower field first, and I always make the same field order in proCoder.

Any thoughts most appreciated.

One last things - My Sony 4 speed burner is 1 year old and about 300 dvds completed. Is this a lot for a burner nowadays?

I fixed the problem myself after about 24 hours of teeth grinding and a few more coasters.

I had spent about a week laying out 100's & 100's of scenes across the timeline of Vegas from Digital Hi 8 tape. The original footage on the hi 8 tape was late 1950's 8mm cinefilm. The 8mm film was in poor condition and a lot of the capture had the frame divider about an inch from the bottom of the screen.

I had spent ages cropping out the bottom edge of the frame and stretching each scene back to full screen. I didn't use the maintain ratio option and this was the problem in the end.

I don't know exactly why, but it seems as though vegas stretched the scene vertically and when I encoded with Procoder, & TMPGenc later
the results weren't noticed on the PC monitor. BUT when I created the DVD and took it over for playback on TV ( The interlaced lines seemed to be spread out slightly horizonatlly and were all wavy and wobbly.

Anyway, I have spent another 6 hours going through the timeline and fixing things up.

Just thought I'd respond to my own post, and hope that some body might take this onboard. I've learnt heaps from others on this forum over th last 12 months.
