  1. D-Link (DI 524) advice please…

I’m new to networking, but managed to get two computers connected. However I am trying to use a PC Anywhere-like program called Anyplace Control. My router needs to be configured so that the software will run. Does anyone know where in the router’s setup I need to go, and what to do?

When the software is first installed, I can get a good connection to the Host computer, but it only lasts for a short time… I think the router is changing the Host’s ip address.

    Please advise…

I think it would behoove you to give more details..........
    This might get you started....

Unless yoiu have a static IP, your ISP will provide a new one each time you shutdown your pc or perform a release and renew...

    Makes sense to me,

  3. Thanks. I configured the D-Link for Netmeeting under Virtual Network, assigned the private ip, set for port 1720, set Anyplace Control for same port and for now it seems to be working again.
