  1. i have been looking for a decent VCD player to include in my VCDs that i am preparing to send to friends etc.

i have used I-Video and Sthsvcd.

I-video has a very nice gui and fun to use but little details spoil alot, such as the track bar (i dont know the name for it - the bar which displays how much of the movie has played and you can jump around just by clicking on it ...) doesnt display when I play my VCDs. so you to watch the whole movie if you wanna fast forward a bit, you cant jump around as you wish which sucks big time.

but sthsvcd works pretty good. alot of options. but i realized that the menu is a bit guffy. so i was wondering if this is a result of my menus or does sthsvcd behave like this with all menus. below is the picture of sthsvcd's menu.

i have a main menu (Blue 1) with two options.
first option will play the whole movie
second option (blue 2) will display and other movie with 5 more options. each pointing to specific chapters.
and below them is the sthsvcd menu controller.

isn't this odd. how come there are so many choices just for two menus ? all you really need is 7 buttons. . but sthsvcd gives me 36 selections (ok they repeat themselves but still - try explaining that to my parents). does every one get this ?

also can anyone suggest a VCD player that isnt listed in this site,

    - that can either autoplay VCD or have an option as in Sthsvcd to play VCD

    - handle menus nicely
