    Does anyone know anything, good or bad, about the LG products? I guess they're new (they bought out Zenith?).

    The VHS/DVD recorder combo (LGXBR466) burns DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, and DVD+RW. It takes flash cards, firewire, and s-video.

    Anyway, I can't find anything about this on the site or anywhere.

  2. They aren't new, just the name is. They are Gold Star and they bought out Zenith years ago. The Korean products generally aren't as good or as reliable as the Japanese products are.

    So is there anywhere I can go for product reviews? What are the drawbacks to Korean units?

    LG = Lucky/Goldstar

    Korean brand name, as samijubal said, their quality is not as good as some Japanese products, but the price is usually lower, and the product quality is slowly improving.

    For product reviews on almost everything, try a review site like www.epinions.com - they have almost everything on there. You can find some reviews on Amazon as well. These are consumer reviews, depending on the category, you may have to look elsewhere for professional reviews.
