  1. Got a question, sure im really pushing the copyrights laws here but If I bought a RCE Region 1 dvd (im in the UK), would I be able to drcypt it with DVD Drycpter and then burn it back as a reigon 2 disc???

AND HANG ON TO ORIGINAL afterwards??? Question is mainly will DVD dcypter rip RCE discs???

just that there is one RCE dvd I fancy and you can't get it region 2 (and never will be able to)
DVD region settings are a joke, I can't believe how stupid people are falling for it

    Hello,

If you can rip it why not just rip it to region free???? Any ripper can do that for you

    Kevin

EDIT - If it's region 1 you'll have the nasty NTSC - Pal conversion ahead of you
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. I havn't bought it yet, just wondering mainly if you can rip it and burn it back on another disc so I can pay it

I'LL HANG ON THE ORGINAL DISC, so its still not breaking the law the way I look at it

DVD Decrypter is capable to ripping RCE protected discs.

yoda313, there is no need to convert to PAL, as our equipment here in the UK are dual compatible with both NTSC/PAL unlike the USA where only NTSC is mainly supported

  6. Like he said, PAL/NTSC are both fine on my mutli=region player here

Ive one other idea tho. the RCE just look for Region 0 players right?? So if I bought another DVD player and set it 'region 1' (not 0) would still play RCE discs? it only looks for '0' right? if its '1' it plays

Its ok I can pick a cheap one and have 2 players one region 2 and one Region 1 if RCE is going to be on everything

I'm sure that DVDDecrypter, DVDShrink and even IFOEdit can get rid of RCE protection so it is not a big hassle at all.
    If in doubt, Google it.

You are partially correct, RCE (Region Code Enhancement) matches the DVD disc region with the DVD Player Region.

RCE does not look for Region 0, rather it looks at the disc region, say region 1 then matches this with the dvd players region which must be region 1, if it is any other region other than region 1, the disc will not play. The same applies for other regions.

  9. Yes, i figure that. So if I reset my existing 'region all' player back to region 2 and buy a 2nd player and set it 'region 1' that will mean im untouchable again

    * i only have region 1,2 dvds in my collection, can't ever see needung them from anywhere elese
